2025 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid

Experience the future of electrified driving with the 2025 Prius Plug-in Hybrid. This innovative vehicle brings together efficiency, intelligence, and exhilarating performance, now with a new name that underscores its advanced powertrain.

“The Prius PHEV’s name may be new, but it’s the same stylish and dynamic car that earned the 2024 North American Car of the Year Award,” said Robert Tsang, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “The Prius PHEV exemplifies Toyota’s no-compromise approach to electrification, joining a diverse lineup of electrified options, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cells – all designed to suit a variety of lifestyles.”

The 2025 Prius Plug-in Hybrid combines 220 system horsepower with a sleek, aerodynamic design and a refined interior equipped with intelligent, user-friendly technology. Built on a foundation of zero- and low-emissions powertrains, it is a flagship model in Toyota’s electrified vehicle lineup.

Powertrain and Efficiency

At the heart of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid is a 2.0L gasoline engine paired with an electric motor-generator system, delivering smooth performance through an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. With an estimated fuel efficiency of 1.8Le/100km for the SE grade, this powertrain blends performance and eco-consciousness seamlessly.

A high-capacity lithium-ion battery provides an electric-only range of up to 72 kilometers, with full recharging achievable in just four hours. For longer journeys, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid transitions effortlessly to its efficient gas-electric hybrid mode, eliminating range anxiety.

Design and Interior

With a striking exterior boasting a 0.27 Coefficient of Drag, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid cuts through the air with remarkable efficiency. Inside, a spacious, modern cabin accommodates up to five passengers, blending comfort and advanced technology.

Every model features Toyota Multimedia, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with Toyota’s advanced interface for intuitive interactions through touch, sight, and voice.

Safety Features

Safety remains paramount with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a comprehensive suite of active safety systems designed to enhance driver awareness and decision-making. Additional standard features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera, eight airbags, Blind Spot Monitor with Safe Exit Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, and more.
